Job Opportunity: RN - ICU (Neuro Critical Care)

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

Position Details

• Specialty: Neuro Surgical and Neurological Intensive Care
• Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Commitment: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Neuro ICU
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Skills & Experience:

  • Neuro ICU experience
  • Comprehensive assessment skills
  • Care of hemodynamically unstable patients
  • Care of mechanically ventilated patients
  • Thorough neurological assessment skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Pupillometer, EVD, ICP waveform management
• CRRT experience
• Epic EMR proficiency

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 10
• Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3
• Equipment Used: Alaris Pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV 1000, Neuroptics Pupillometer
• EMR System: Epic
• Patient Types:

  • Ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
  • Post-op craniotomy
  • Seizures
  • Encephalopathy
  • Neurologic tumors

Additional Requirements

• Floating to other inpatient areas when home unit census is low
• Dress code: Navy scrubs; hoodies are not allowed
