Job Description

• Must have experience working with dementia patients, specifically those with behavioral disturbances.
• Position is within a behavioral health unit focused on geriatric patients (age 50+).
• Facility includes a 24-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:7.
• No call or float requirements.
• Shift details available upon inquiry.
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36, including 24 weekend hours.
• Work environment requires a calm personality and ability to get along well with others.

Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 1+ year in specialty (RN with dementia/behavioral health experience).
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • HWC (Health Worker Certification)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
• Licensure: Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license to practice in Tennessee.
• Must be at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify as a travel nurse.
• All clinical staff must be cleared through the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to assignment start.

• Department: Behavioral Health Geriatric Unit
• Number of Beds: 24
• Patient Population: Geriatric (50+) with dementia and behavioral disturbances
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Medhost

Additional Notes

• Orientation is bi-weekly on Mondays.
• Dress code requires solid color scrubs; facial piercings are not allowed.
• No prior travel experience explicitly required.

This role is ideal for an RN with at least 1 year of experience in dementia or behavioral health nursing, seeking a travel assignment in a geriatric behavioral health setting.
