Job Description

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required.
  • Certifications required: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support).
  • Shift options: 36 or 48 hours per week.
  • Schedule: Every other weekend.

Unit Details

  • High Intensity Care Unit (HICU) specializing in Vent/Pulmonary Care and Acute Rehab.
  • Unit has 20 semi-private rooms, accommodating up to 40 patients.
  • Patient population: Adults 18 years and older with acute brain injury, respiratory assistance needs, cardiac conditions, or complex medical conditions requiring special monitoring and rehabilitation.
  • Provides 24/7 respiratory care, diagnostics, medical treatment, and rehabilitation services.
  • Suitable for patients transitioning from acute care settings requiring extended multidisciplinary treatment.

Required Experience & Certifications

  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in nursing specialty.
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (AHA Provider Certification or equivalent)
    • BLS (AHA Provider Certification or equivalent)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background Checks:
    • Must have a background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
    • Includes SS Trace, Counties, Nationwide, Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification.
    • International searches required if applicable.
  • Licensure:
    • Primary source verification of state nursing license required.
    • NURSYS verification required for all RNs.
  • Education Verification:
    • Verification of nursing education program accreditation required.
    • Transcript or diploma preferred as placeholder if verification pending.
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
    • Required immunizations/vaccinations: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
    • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
    • Respirator fit test to be completed onsite.
  • Competency Exams:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (Relias or Prophecy only), with 3 attempts allowed (2 attempts for this facility).
  • Additional Facility-Specific Requirements:
    • Completion and signing of Floating Policy and Time and Attendance Policy for contracted staff.
    • Photo for badge required.
    • Parking registration prior to start.
    • ReadySet account setup and OSHA Respirator Fit test survey completion prior to start.
    • Stroke and Trauma CEUs may be required; must be completed or updated annually as applicable.
    • Pass/Fail testing acknowledgment required for RNs.
