Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: 36 hours per week, Days and Evenings rotate, every other weekend (EOW)
• Unit: Respiratory
• Facility Overview: 371 licensed beds including 220 Med/Surg beds, MICU, ED, Labor and Delivery, Level 2B Nursery
• Shift Rotation:

  • Day shift may rotate to 11a-11p when needed
  • Night shift is straight nights

Experience & Qualifications

• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in respiratory therapy with ventilator experience in an acute care setting
• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy
• Certifications:

  • CRT or RRT from the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
  • Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist License
  • BLS (American Heart Association only)
• Skills: Ability to draw arterial blood gases
• Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (assumed not required)

Clinical & Operational Information

• EMR System: EPIC
• Clinician to Patient Ratio:

  • Day shift: 5 Respiratory Therapists (1 Charge, 2 ICU, 2 Med/Surg)
  • Evening shift: 5 Respiratory Therapists
  • Night shift: 4 Respiratory Therapists
• Equipment Used:

  • PB980 Ventilator
  • Hamilton T1 Transport Ventilator

Required Health & Compliance Credentials

• Fit Test: N95 fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no onsite testing)
• Immunizations & Tests:

  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccination or proof of immunity
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions
  • TB test (skin or blood test) within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
• Health Statement: Physician statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
• Background Checks:

  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date
  • National sex offender check within 30 days prior to start date
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start date
• Additional: Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation required
