Job Opportunity: RN - Cardiac Cath Lab

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility Overview

355-bed acute hospital with multiple specialty centers including Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, General & Vascular Surgery, Surgical Weight Loss, Women’s Center, and Level 3 NICU
Includes a 32-bed Emergency Department, 29-bed inpatient rehab, 15-bed surgical suite & imaging, and an 81-bed adult Behavioral Health Hospital

Work Schedule

4 shifts per week, 10 hours each
Average 5-15 cases per day

Job Responsibilities

Perform plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments
Document patient care provided
Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to care team, physicians, patients, and families
Assist patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
Collaborate across disciplines for patient care coordination including transfers, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support
Evaluate and provide patient/family education tailored to age, culture, and condition
Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients

Qualifications & Requirements

Current RN license in North Carolina
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within 6 months of hire
2+ years of experience in nursing specialty (Cardiac Cath Lab) (Note: higher experience requirement applied)
Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) certification preferred

Additional Notes

Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff

This position offers an opportunity to work in a diverse acute care setting with a focus on cardiac catheterization and related patient care.
