Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Care is delivered using the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and available resources, aligned with the institution's philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Perform all unit-specific nursing duties within the scope of service.
• Implement procedures and theories related to the surgical area of practice.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care for healthcare team use.
• Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs.
• Implement and modify plans of care and nursing interventions based on continuous evaluation.
• Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting hazards and incidents.
• Communicate effectively and privately to resolve issues.
• Provide constructive feedback to peers and collaborate to expand knowledge.
• Identify personal learning needs and take initiative for professional development.
• Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience.

Education

• Required: ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing)
• Preferred: BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

Certifications & Licensure

• Illinois state RN License in good standing
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Prior Travel Experience
