Description
Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Specialty: Registered Nurse (Med Surg 5N)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3x12 or 4x12 shifts, weekdays, every other weekend
Start Date: ASAP
Possible Extension: Yes
Job Details
- Unit: 5N Med Surg (Oncology experience preferred but not required)
- Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
- Schedule: Blocked schedule, weekdays and every other weekend
- Skills Required: IV start
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
- EMR System: Cerner
- Scrubs: Not provided; burgundy and/or white required
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- ONS Chemo/Bio Certification (preferred, not required)
Important Notes
- Facility attendance policy: Only 2-3 call offs tolerated per contract due to attendance issues.
- Candidate must submit:
- Work history/profile
- Specialty-specific skills checklist
- Minimum 2 manager/charge nurse references (within past year)
- RN license verification
- Copies of all required certifications
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Education verification and transcript/diploma (if applicable)
- Physical exam (initial and annual)
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within required timeframes)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccinations
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
- Varicella titer or vaccination
- Flu seasonal vaccination/documentation (required during flu season; exemptions require agency approval)
- COVID vaccine or declination required
- Drug testing: 10-panel within 30 days of start and annually
- Competency exams and color blindness testing as applicable
- Facility-specific documents including badge photo, background drug screen consent, non-disclosure agreements, parking pass, and care learning modules
- Cerner Learning Training Modules must be completed prior to orientation
- ReadySet (RS) Surveys (online health assessment paperwork) must be completed by facility deadlines
Additional Facility Requirements
- 8 CEU hours of stroke education annually (Relias or other approved vendors accepted)
- NIH Stroke Certification required prior to start
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement or signed HIPAA form required
- Mon Health – RS Contractor Form completion required
- Point of Care Technician Application required for Cath Lab RNs (not applicable here)
This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of Med Surg experience, comfortable working nights on a blocked schedule, and able to meet strict attendance and certification requirements. Oncology experience and ONS chemo certification are preferred but not mandatory. Prior travel experience is not required.
