Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Wilson, North Carolina

Position Details

• Specialty: Telemetry

• Shift: 7 AM or 7 PM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Hours: 12 hours (Every other or every third weekend)
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Yes
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric
• Patient Ratios: 5:1 or 6:1
• Unit Beds: 22
• EHR System: Meditech EMR
• Equipment Used: Welch Allyn V/S machine, Hoyer Lift with weight scale, Abbott Glucometer, Computers on Wheels, TR band, Baxter IV pumps

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Registered Nurse License
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification
• Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in Telemetry specialty (highest required)
• Skills:

  • EKG interpretation and critical thinking skills (a plus)
  • Ability to manage discharges and admissions
  • Basic cardiac drip knowledge preferred

Job Responsibilities & Environment

• Manage patients with diagnoses such as CHF, chest pain, acute renal failure, COPD, uncontrolled diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and post cardiac catheterization care
• Work in a team-oriented and flexible environment
• Med/Surg overflow unit
• Supervisor: Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse

Additional Information

• Orientation is bi-weekly
• Meditech experience preferred
• Dress code: Scrubs (no assigned color), artificial nails are not allowed
• Travel contract length: 13 weeks
