Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Job Requirements

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Must be AHA certified (ARC may be acceptable with approval; military certification not accepted)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for all RRTs unless working NICU only; must be AHA certified
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) but primarily BLS and ACLS are mandatory for this role.

• Experience:

  • Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT)

• Fingerprinting must be done through Pennsylvania Department of Human Services; out-of-state fingerprinting possible but with non-reimbursed fee.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam: Physician statement within 2 months of start.

• Immunizations/Vaccinations:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (QGold or T-Spot within 90 days or 2 PPDs)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
  • Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer or completed vaccine series required; declinations not accepted
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
  • Flu Shot: Required for all new candidates starting October through May; declination allowed only with facility-specific form and masking policy adherence
  • COVID-19: Fully vaccinated or signed declination with facility-specific form

• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (9-panel without THC also acceptable). Dilute results require observed drug screen within 24 hours.

• Respirator Safety Clearance: Required for all candidates starting 04/07/2025 and beyond; must be medically cleared annually for respirator use.

Competency Exams and Testing

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for all RN candidates (may apply to RRTs depending on facility).
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required within 12 months of start for all RNs & LVNs (may apply depending on role).
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for all RNs & LVNs except certain specialties.
• References: Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start.
• Employment Application: Must include 7 years of complete work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days.

Additional Notes

• State License verification and NURSYS verification required prior to start and upon expiration.
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement and Pass/Fail Testing Acknowledgement required.
• Photo ID and badge requirements apply for new candidates starting 3/31/2025 and later.
• Various facility-specific documents and forms must be completed prior to start.
• Candidate must comply with all facility and state-specific requirements for clearance and credentialing.
