Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist (OT) - Acute Care Hospital
Location: Burlingame, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to work in an acute care setting. Responsibilities include:
- Assessing, planning, organizing, and participating in rehabilitative programs
- Helping patients build or restore vocational, homemaking, and daily living skills
- Promoting general independence for persons with disabilities or developmental delays
Requirements
- Must have Behavioral Health experience
- Valid California OT License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent relevant OT experience
Shift Details
- 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
- Day shift: 08:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Workdays: Tuesday through Saturday
Background Checks & Compliance
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start
- Sex Offender Search within 90 days of start
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
- Education verification required (highest level achieved)
- Drug screening (9-panel, excluding marijuana due to CA law) within 6 months of start
- TB screening and questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations required: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu seasonal vaccination (during flu season)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- Additional certifications may be required depending on position specifics (verify with recruiter)
Documentation & Compliance
- Must provide a hard copy or documentation of professional license
- Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
- Photo for badge (passport-style) required
