Job Description

• Certified Surgical Tech (CVOR) – Scrub Required
• Rotating shifts between 6:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
• Shift schedule varies based on staffing needs
• On-call responsibilities shared among team members
• Weekend shifts included in regular rotation
• Must be flexible with shift times

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5 years total Certified Surgical Tech (CST) experience
• At least 2 years experience in cardiac & vascular surgery
• Minimum 1 year CVOR experience
• Minimum 1 year experience in a Level I Trauma facility
• Experience with cardiovascular/thoracic instrument reprocessing

Required Skills

• Scrub experience required
• General Operating Room procedures
• Thoracic and vascular surgery procedures
• CVOR procedures such as CABG, EVAR, TEVAR, valve replacement, etc.
• Aseptic technique
• Crash cart management, scrub & circulate roles
• Equipment documentation
• Charting system: EPIC

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• National Tech Certification verification within 30 days of start (Note: National cert not required for Surgical Technologists; SPTs require HSPA or CBSPD certification for new travelers starting 3/28/25 and after)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide check, sex offender registry, and MVR if driving is required
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
• Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending
• Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed)
• Various health documents including physical exam, immunizations (Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B), TB testing or questionnaire, flu vaccination or declination during flu season
• Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
• Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment required
• Ethics and compliance policies must be reviewed and signed annually for new contracts
