Job Description

  • Position: Radiation Therapist
  • Operating Hours: Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Shift Details:
    • Standard shifts: 8.5 hours with a 30-minute lunch break
    • Holiday weeks: 10-hour shifts to accommodate 40 guaranteed hours
    • No weekends or on-call required
  • First week onboarding shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Dress Code: Scrubs (black pants, any top)

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Ohio State License
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Radiation Therapy Technology

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Fully competent on Varian TruBeam linacs, Halcyon, and Aria version 15
  • Preferred knowledge of Vision RT or OSMS (VisionRT experience is nice to have but not mandatory)

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
  • Education accreditation verification required
  • Fingerprinting must be completed using specific Ohio codes and within 1 year of start
  • Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
  • High school diploma or GED verification required
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • TB questionnaire required
  • Immunizations:
    • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella
    • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption possible)
    • Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) vaccine after age 11/12
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)
  • Competency exams including unit-specific and medication/pharmacology competency
