Job Opportunity: Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist (OT Acute Care Hospital)

Job Description

• Position for an experienced inpatient acute rehabilitation Occupational Therapist.
• Shift: 5/8s, Sunday through Thursday.
• Work with a large team and a complex patient population.
• Patient specializations include:

  • Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA)
  • Brain Injury
  • Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
  • Cancer Rehabilitation
  • Complex Orthopedics

Required Experience & Certifications

• Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Occupational Therapy)
• Years of Experience: Neuro OT experience required; must have acute care experience. (Exact years not specified, but must be experienced in neuro and acute care OT.)
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • California Occupational Therapy License (CA License) required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Neuro experience required (Neuro OT)
• Additional certifications may be position-dependent (e.g., ACLS, PALS, CCRN) but BLS and CA license are mandatory.

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 6 months of start.
• Sex offender search required within 90 days of start.
• FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
• Education verification required.
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law).
• Employment history verification: 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days.
• TB screening and questionnaire required within 90 days of start; must be renewed annually.
• Immunizations required or proof of immunity for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series or declination)
  • Varicella
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April)
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask test required within 1 year of start; must be renewed annually.
• Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start and annually.
• References: 2 professional references required for clinical/allied acute care candidates.

  • Vestibular Competency

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
