Job Opportunity: Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist (OT Acute Care Hospital)
Location: Oakland, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position for an experienced inpatient acute rehabilitation Occupational Therapist.
- Shift: 5/8s, Sunday through Thursday.
- Work with a large team and a complex patient population.
- Patient specializations include:
- Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA)
- Brain Injury
- Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
- Cancer Rehabilitation
- Complex Orthopedics
Required Experience & Certifications
- Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Occupational Therapy)
- Years of Experience: Neuro OT experience required; must have acute care experience. (Exact years not specified, but must be experienced in neuro and acute care OT.)
- Licenses/Certifications:
- California Occupational Therapy License (CA License) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Neuro experience required (Neuro OT)
- Additional certifications may be position-dependent (e.g., ACLS, PALS, CCRN) but BLS and CA license are mandatory.
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start.
- Sex offender search required within 90 days of start.
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
- Education verification required.
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law).
- Employment history verification: 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days.
- TB screening and questionnaire required within 90 days of start; must be renewed annually.
- Immunizations required or proof of immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series or declination)
- Varicella
- Seasonal Flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April)
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start.
- Fit mask test required within 1 year of start; must be renewed annually.
- Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start and annually.
- References: 2 professional references required for clinical/allied acute care candidates.
