Job Description
- Cath Lab Tech needed for shifts 07:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- RCIS certification not accepted
- On-call requirements:
- At least 2 weekends in an 8-week schedule
- 1-2 weeknights on call (starting between 5:30 PM or 7:00 PM until 7:00 AM next morning)
- Weekend call is 48 hours (7:00 AM Saturday to 7:00 AM Monday)
- Once trained in neuro, call duties split between cardiac and neuro
Required Certifications and Skills
- ARRT certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Diagnostic right and left heart catheterization
- Interventional catheterization
- Rotablator operation
- Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
- Closure devices
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Circulating and scrubbing in procedures
- Sterile procedure and equipment setup
- Experience with middle adult to geriatric patients
- Computerized documentation
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Education verification matching specialty required (diploma or transcript acceptable if verification unavailable)
- State license primary source verification required
- NURSYS verification for applicable licenses (RNs)
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required by agency standards)
- Fit mask test annually (waivers available for medical/religious reasons)
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or IgG titer required
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer, series, or declination
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or IgG titer required
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption
Competency and Testing
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (advanced level for Cath Lab Techs)
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Color blind testing prior to start
- Pass/fail EKG test required for certain units (may apply)
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required (1 for non-clinical)
- Employment application required
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually (not required for non-clinical)
- Work history verification may be required if background check reveals issues
Prior Travel Experience
