Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - OB Specialty

Location: Soldotna, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Manage individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process and principles of primary nursing.
  • Follow departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practice.
  • Utilize equipment including Meditech, OBIX, Pyxis Supply Stations, and bedside fetal monitor.
  • Provide care in a unit with 4 LDRP rooms and 5 Nursery/Postpartum rooms.
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio follows national standards based on labor type and patient needs.
  • Work 12-hour shifts.
  • Dress code: Scrubs provided.
  • Complete Meditech and OBIX training (3 days) plus unit-specific orientation. Medication testing required within first two weeks on site.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years recent LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) experience.
  • Active Alaska RN license.
  • Current BLS (AHA), NRP, and STABLE certifications.
  • Experience with fetal monitoring and AED.
  • Experience with EPIC charting preferred.

Additional Notes

  • No floating to other units/departments required.
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
