Job Opportunity: CT Technologist
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Job Description
Operate CT scanners to obtain diagnostic images of specified body parts as requested. Produce quality images for radiologist interpretation and function independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients, verify identity, and take pertinent patient history.
- Review procedure orders, medications, allergies, and questionnaires.
- Explain procedures to patients and address questions or concerns.
- Communicate professionally with patients, coworkers, physicians, and office staff.
- Position patients, perform scans, and archive procedures following established protocols.
- Prepare patients for contrast media administration using proper venipuncture techniques.
- Administer and document medications used during procedures.
- Reconcile patient medications to avoid interactions with contrast media.
- Assist coworkers in other modalities as needed (e.g., starting IVs, computer functions).
- Assist physicians with invasive procedures when applicable.
- Verify physician orders for accuracy and act accordingly.
- Use radiation-reducing techniques without compromising image quality.
- Protect patients, self, and others from radiation exposure; properly use and store dosimeter.
- Use appropriate devices to move patients safely and minimize risk of injury.
- Observe patients to minimize risk of falls or other injuries.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years related experience in CT technology.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, isolation, and sterile techniques/procedures.
- Patient positioning and operation of x-ray machines and printers.
Education & Certifications
- Graduation from an ARRT accredited Radiologic Technology school.
- ARRT certification.
- Ohio License as Radiographer.
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification.
