Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Shift: 3x12 hour shifts (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: Yes, within scope and to sister facilities
  • Daily Caseload: Varies by shift and location

Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year preferred in specialty
    • 6 months Level 1 Trauma experience required
    • Siemens equipment experience required
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
  • Certifications/Licenses:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
    • ARRT RT (R) (CT) certification
    • SCRQSA (R) (CT) certification
    • Must have South Carolina state license in hand at time of start (no pending licenses accepted)
  • Radiation Badge: Required and must be supplied by the agency (facility does NOT provide)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background Checks:
    • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Includes SSN trace, statewide and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
  • Education Verification: Required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if verification pending
  • References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Employment History: Verification of last 3 clinical employers required
  • Competency Exams: Required as applicable
  • Color Blind Testing: Required prior to start
  • Photo for Badge: Clear, passport-style photo with solid light background, frontal view, business casual attire
  • Orientation Modules: Must be completed prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
  • Physical Exam: Initial and updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Fit Mask Test: N95 fit test within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
  • Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start
  • Immunizations & Health:
    • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
    • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or proof of prior positive with follow-up chest x-ray
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series required; boosters may be needed for low titers
    • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination required
    • Flu vaccine required during flu season or medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted)
    • COVID vaccines highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
  • Radiation Badge Process: Must be initiated by agency; badge delivery may take 5-7 days before starting floor work
  • Radius Rule: 60 miles
  • Locals: Accepted on case-by-case basis

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers accepted if they have prior experience
  • Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • Floating within scope and to sister facilities is required
  • All required documents and certifications must be current and valid at time of start (no certifications expiring within 30 days accepted)
