Description
Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist
Location: Peoria, Illinois
Specialty: SFMC - Radiation Therapy
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Assist with daily patient flow in Radiation Oncology clinical location
- Evaluate and develop new processes for patient care
- Assist physicians by treating patients with prescribed doses of ionizing radiation using specialized radiation equipment
- Prepare treatment room, explain procedures to patients, position patients, and administer treatments
- Monitor patients during therapy sessions to ensure comfort and observe condition changes
- Simulate patient treatment according to treatment plan and deliver prescribed radiation doses
- Design and construct custom treatment devices for individual patients
- Provide patient care appropriate to the ages of patients served
Required Qualifications
- Current licensure with Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Department of Nuclear Safety
- Registry or registry eligible with ARRT within 6 months of hire
- Completion of a 2-year training program in Radiation Therapy
- Knowledge of radiation therapy procedures, equipment operation, physics, and patient care techniques acquired through an approved radiation therapy technology program
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, allied health personnel, and other medical staff
- Analytical skills to provide accurate care instructions, interpret physicians' prescriptions, and replicate treatment plans

- Shift: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
