Job Opportunity: CT Technologist
Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Perform a variety of Computed Tomography (CT) procedures under the direction of qualified physicians and technical specialists.
- Use prescribed levels of ionizing radiation to produce quality diagnostic images of specified body parts.
- Work with patients ranging from newborn to geriatric.
- Able to insert and remove IVs.
- Follow all federal, state, local, and hospital policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Minimum of 1 year of Radiology experience required.
- Licensed by the State of Massachusetts Radiation Control Board.
- ARRT Registered - RT (R) or RT (N).
- ARRT Registry in Computed Tomography preferred; if not licensed in CT at time of hire, must obtain CT license within one year.
- CPR certification required.
- Knowledge of the special needs and behaviors of adult and older adult patients preferred.
Prior Travel Experience
- No explicit prior travel experience required.
Required Certifications and Health Requirements
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA preferred).
- ARRT certification.
- CPR certification.
- Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually.
- Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity.
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30).
- TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if break >6 months.
- Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date.
- Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender registry.
- Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid).
- Documentation of Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity is strongly preferred.
- Tdap vaccine preferred within 10 years.
Additional Requirements
- Must provide 2 recent professional references (minimum 1 supervisor or above).
- Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
- Completion of skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required.
- Various attestations and verifications related to licensure, education, and health status required prior to onboarding.
Summary
This CT Technologist role is a 13-week long-term assignment in Massachusetts requiring at least 1 year of radiology experience, state licensure, ARRT registration, and CPR certification. The position involves performing CT imaging procedures on a wide patient age range and requires compliance with multiple health and safety certifications and background checks.
