Description
Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work rotating shifts between 6:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
- Shift schedule includes 2 eight-hour shifts and 2 twelve-hour shifts with on-call responsibilities
- Weekend shifts are part of the regular rotation
- Flexibility in scheduling is required
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac, vascular, and transplant nursing
- At least 1 year of CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience
- At least 1 year experience in a Level I Trauma facility
Required Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable)
- Epic charting system experience required
Required Skills and Competencies
- General Operating Room skills
- Cardiovascular, Thoracic, Vascular, and Transplant nursing skills
- Completion of Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam prior to start
- Unit-specific competency exams required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (minimum passing score 76%)
License Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Ohio
- NURSYS verification required
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (must be completed within 1 year of start)
- Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA, or CASN)
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
- Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer (medical exemptions reviewed)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Annual review and acknowledgment of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies

- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)
