Travel/Contract ICU Registered Nurse - Mayfield Heights, Ohio

Job Details

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 18 months recent ICU experience
  • Minimum of 18 months permanent experience in ICU specialty prior to travel assignments

Required Licenses & Certifications

  • Ohio RN license or compact state license in hand
  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate pass required during orientation

Prior Travel Experience

  • Not explicitly required

Required Qualifications & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID) required and must be carried on assignment
  • Background checks including:
    • FCRA compliant 7-year search
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM monthly checks
    • HHS/OIG monthly checks
    • FBI and BCI fingerprinting (must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing and updated annually)
  • Education verification required
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam
  • Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months, updated annually
  • Immunizations and health requirements:
    • Tdap vaccine every 10 years
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
    • Varicella vaccination or titer
    • Annual flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption
  • Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted)
  • References: 2 professional references from employment within the past year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
  • Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area
  • Annual skills checklist and unit-specific competency exams required
  • Pass/fail ECG and medication testing during orientation (SafeMedicate and ECG rhythm recognition)
  • Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)

Orientation & Testing

  • ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate testing during orientation; passing scores required
  • Pass/fail testing exemptions for legacy candidates with less than 6 months gap between contracts
  • Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency testing

Additional Notes

  • Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
  • Facility requires latex allergy notification if applicable
  • Candidates must complete all onboarding modules before clearance to start
  • Modules cannot be completed on phones and must be completed in Google Chrome
  • Candidates with a break of more than 6 months between Cleveland Clinic assignments may need to re-complete modules and orientation

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs with solid recent ICU experience and Ohio licensure, seeking a travel contract in a reputable healthcare system.
