Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Technologist
Location: Silverdale, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
A hospital in Washington is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist for a travel contract. This is a busy multimodality cath lab with a brand new campus opened in December 2020. The position is available due to expansion of services, not staff resignations. The team is welcoming to travelers.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Washington
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Active ARRT or RCIS certification for Cath Lab Tech
- ACLS and BLS certification required
Work Details
- Average cases per day: 25-30
- Common cases include:
- Left and right heart catheterizations
- Complex PCI
- Impella and IABP support
- Electrophysiology
- Structural heart procedures (TAVR, Watchman)
- Interventional radiology and peripheral vascular (hybrid or combined cases such as AAA)
- Shifts: 10-hour or 12-hour shifts (days, 2 on 2 off or 4 on 10 off schedules)
- Weekend requirement: On call every third weekend or less
- Call requirement: Average 1-2 call days per week and 1 weekend per month with 30-minute response time
- Holidays: On call only, otherwise off
- Scrubs: Hospital-issued surgical attire
- Orientation: Less than 1 week if competent
Environment & Equipment
- EMR/Equipment: EPIC, MACLAB, PYXIS, GE Imaging, CARTO, Abbott EP
- Cath lab staffed daily with 14 techs and 7 RNs
- 24/7 cardiologist on call
- 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support with code support
- Critical care patients ventilated only during procedures
- IV team available but not needed on unit; pre-op nurses and cath lab staff proficient in ultrasound IV starts
- Floating only in emergency response situations
Additional Notes
- Manager is open to considering dual-role RN candidates with RCIS certification who do not have a Washington Radiology license, especially those with compact licenses and scrub experience.
- This is a travel contract opportunity in a beautiful Pacific Northwest location with a supportive team environment.
