Job Opportunity: 10E General Surgical Floor RN
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
- Coordinate care across all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
- Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
Required Qualifications
- License: Current RN license verified through Nursys within 30 days prior to assignment start.
- Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- Exams:
- Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Medical Surgical Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Health Requirements:
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred before start
- TB Testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA with annual TB questionnaire; if positive, chest X-ray required
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to assignment, updated annually
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
- Background Checks and Verifications:
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days of assignment start
- Employment verification for past 7 years
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
- Additional Requirements:
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) with minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years
- Ascension Skills Checklist for specialty, updated annually
- Cerner Test-Out and Training Checklist with signed attestation prior to start
- Driver’s License/State ID valid and matching address requirements
