Job Opportunity: RN - Behavioral Health

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Work in a 355-bed hospital with specialized centers including Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, Surgical Weight Loss, Women’s Center, and Level 3 NICU.
Behavioral Health unit includes 5 units with patient ratios ranging from 10 to 23 patients per unit, supported by RNs and CNAs.
Patient population: Adult behavioral health patients.
Common diagnoses and treatments include Schizophrenia, Dementia, Manic Bipolar Disorder, Psychosis, Dual Diagnosis, Medical Detox, Depression, and Anxiety Disorders.
Electronic Health Record system: Cerner.
No call requirements.
Dress code: Any color scrub; certification with Handle with Care (HWC) preferred but training provided.

Required Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification (Handle with Care preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience in Behavioral Health nursing specialty.

Additional Information

Patient ratios vary by unit, generally ranging from 1 RN per 10-23 patients with CNA support.
No weekend or call requirements specified.
Training available for Handle with Care certification if not already held.
