Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Oakland, California
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Mammography Tech)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Rotating weekend shifts: Tuesday to Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with Monday off
- Every other weekend and 1 Saturday per month required
- Floating required within the breast center and mobile mammography van service across the Bay Area
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mammography Tech
- Education: Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology
- Licenses/Certifications:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist)
- California State Mammography Licensure (Certified Radiologic Technologist certification by the California Department of Health Services)
Prior Travel Experience
- Not explicitly required
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
- Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS screenings
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
- Employment history verification: Full 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days; explanations required for gaps over 1 year
- Professional references: 2 professional references required (Aya requirement, not client)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, cleared for work
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
- Immunizations and/or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start
Competency and Other Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- Unit-specific skills checklist, renewed annually
- Various facility-specific documents and attestations must be reviewed and signed prior to start (e.g., Standards of Business Conduct, HIPAA Agreement, Code of Conduct)
- TB Screening Questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
Additional Notes
- Candidate must be willing to float and travel via mobile mammography van throughout the Bay Area
- Multiple background checks and verifications are required before and during the assignment
- Compliance with all health and safety protocols including immunizations and fit testing is mandatory
