Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg
Location: Soldotna, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Manage individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process and principles of primary nursing.
- Follow departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practice.
- Utilize equipment such as Meditech, OBIX, and Pyxis Supply Stations.
- Complete Meditech and OBIX training (3 days) plus unit-specific orientation.
- Complete Medication Testing within the first two weeks on site.
Required Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license.
- Heart Saver AED Certification.
- BLS Certification (must be AHA).
- Minimum 3 years of Med Surg nursing experience with strong critical thinking skills.
- Experience with EPIC charting preferred.
Work Schedule & Environment
- 12-hour shifts.
- Unit has 31 beds.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio follows national standards.
- Dress code: Scrubs provided.
Additional Notes
- No floating to other units/departments required.
- Orientation and training provided on site.
- Time off requests should be communicated in advance.
Prior travel experience: Not specified or required.
