Description
Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist II
Location: Fairfield, California
Employment Type: Clinical Allied Travel
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide occupational therapy services in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Evaluate patients on physician’s referral and develop treatment plans.
- Act as case manager for assigned patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records and revise treatment plans as needed.
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapy procedures and use of assistive equipment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment team and communicate patient progress.
- Participate in departmental meetings, program development, and student/volunteer supervision.
- Supervise occupational therapist assistants.
- Maintain safe and orderly treatment areas and equipment.
- Support orientation and supervision of other healthcare professionals.
- Engage in professional growth through educational programs and workshops.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
- Current California Occupational Therapy license required.
- NBCOT Certification required.
- Current AHA or equivalent BLS certification.
- Preferred: CHT, Physical Agent Modalities (PAM), or Advanced Practitioner certification in Hands.
- Occupational Therapy license applicants may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in acute hospital or outpatient hand clinic preferred.
- New graduates will be considered.
- Must demonstrate and maintain clinical skills in occupational therapy evaluation and treatment across all age groups: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric.
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers.
- Strong critical thinking and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting/pushing/pulling of patients and equipment.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations governing Occupational Therapy practice.
