Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: San Francisco, California
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform routine and specialized computerized tomography (CT) and x-ray procedures.
- Produce quality images for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease.
- Work independently with sound judgment and clinical skills to ensure safe, precise, and timely procedures.
- Engage patients, families, and healthcare providers through assessment, monitoring, and communication.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety.
- May perform specific procedures and assist in orienting new staff to the department.
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts (Saturday through Monday), starting between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: California CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist) license.
- Venipuncture Certification: California Venipuncture licensure required.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty (Radiology/CT).
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including alias and county searches.
- Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS Level 3 screenings.
- Sex Offender Search required within 90 days of start.
- Education verification required (highest level achieved).
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start.
- Fit mask test required within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or facial hair).
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
- Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start and renewed annually.
Additional Requirements
- Full 7 years of work history documented with no gaps, including city and state locations.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually.
- Competency exams as applicable (medication test/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG if required).
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation prior to start.
- TB questionnaire required within 90 days of start and renewed annually.
