Description
Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Lansing, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: 72 hours per pay period, typically 5x8 hour shifts or 4x8 hour shifts
- Variable start times: 7:00 AM, 7:30 AM, or 8:00 AM
- Every third weekend rotation required
- No on-call or floating duties
- Work in a fast-paced department performing general diagnostic exams for Emergency Department and inpatient units
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Surgery experience preferred
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Radiology / Cardiology specialty
- Prior travel experience not explicitly required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Weekend work required
Certifications & Licenses Required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or RQI accepted)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) certification
- Current Michigan state license required (must be verified within 30 days of start)
Additional Preferred/Applicable Certifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – preferred but not required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – as applicable
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – as applicable
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – for ER placements
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) – for ER placements
- Tech Certification Verification (national) – required if applicable, including CT tech endorsements and continuing education credits

Schedule & Work Conditions
- No floating to sister facilities

Required Background & Health Documentation
- Background check within 30 days of assignment start, including:
- 7-year county and state criminal history
- Social Security Number trace
- National Sex Offender Database search
- FACIS Level 3 search
- Education verification
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen with THC within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start (must note latex sensitivity)
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (during flu season)
- OSHA Respirator Fit Mask form completed at least 1 week prior to start
Other Requirements
- Resume with 7-year work history
- Two references from previous employers
- Skill checklist and competency exams as required by unit
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (some may be completed onsite)
- Acknowledgement of orientation safety manual
This position is suitable for healthcare professionals with at least 1 year of radiology experience, comfortable working in a trauma and emergency setting, and able to commit to a 13-week travel contract in Michigan.
