Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract

Location: Duncan, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Details

  • Shift: Mid shift (10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.) with occasional 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. rotation support
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2-3
  • Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
  • First-time Travelers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • On-call: Not specified as required
  • Floating: Yes, floating within scope to meet facility needs
  • Block Schedule: Open to accommodating
  • Locals Accepted: Yes
  • Pending License: Not accepted
  • Return to Office Restrictions: None

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • CPI (or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) accepted in lieu of CPI; must be updated every 2 years)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as required
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - may be required for ER
  • State License Verification (Primary Source Verification)
  • NURSYS Verification (for all RNs)

Health and Compliance Requirements

  • Physical Exam within last 12 months (not required annually)
  • Fit Mask (N95) fit test within last year; CAPR option available but not preferred
  • Immunizations and Titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years) or declination
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year (annual updates required)
    • Rubeola (Measles): 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination acceptable
    • Mumps: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination acceptable
    • Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination acceptable
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, vaccine series, or declination
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox; booster or declination acceptable
  • Drug Testing:
    • 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year (instant acceptable)
    • 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start (specific substances required; instant NOT acceptable)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Facility-Approved Exemption required during flu season (10/01 - 03/31)
  • Background Check:
    • 7-year criminal check within 30 days of start, updated annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • References:
    • 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
  • Competency Exams: Medication/Pharmacology competency and color blindness testing required as applicable

  • Candidates must have completed at least one prior travel contract (first-timers not accepted)
  • Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service
  • Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments required prior to start
  • Candidate must complete confidentiality agreements and health surveys before starting
  • Floating and block scheduling flexibility expected
