Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Stuart, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) specialty for a travel/contract role.

Required Experience

• 1-2 years of Open Heart ICU experience with ventilator management
• Experience with Swans, IABP, Impella, Hemodynamics, and post heart recovery
• EPIC charting experience

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – must have at time of application
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – must have at time of application
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) – must obtain prior to start

Work Schedule & Other Details

• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12 shifts or 40 hours for 8/10 shifts
• Floating required within scope to all 3 hospitals within 20 miles
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Locals accepted at same rate
• No pending licenses accepted
• Smoke-free facility: all travelers must be nicotine-free (negative 10 panel drug screen including nicotine required)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
• Minimum of 1 year CVICU experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Swans, IABP, and Impella devices

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Drug screen: Negative 10 panel within 1 year (no Florida Medical Marijuana card accepted)
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• 2 professional references within 2 years required
• Pass/fail testing (EKG/Medication) during orientation
• Completion of online onboarding modules prior to start (time sensitive)
