Travel RN PCU (Progressive Cardiac Care)

Location: Evansville, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit & Patient Population

  • Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCU)
  • 28 beds
  • Patient population includes Medical, Cardiac, Pre/Post Cardiovascular Surgery, Arrhythmia, Heart Failure, and Stroke overflow
  • Patient ratio: 1:4-5

Required Qualifications

  • Current RN license in Indiana with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • Completion of Pharmacology 1 or 2 exam prior to start (minimum 80%, max 2 attempts)
  • Completion of Medical Surgical exam prior to start (minimum 80%, max 2 attempts)
  • Completion of EKG exam prior to start (minimum 80%, max 2 attempts)
  • Completion of Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics) within 1 year, updated every 3 years (minimum 80%)
  • NIH Certification (Group A yearly, Groups B-F every 2 years)
  • Ascension Skills Checklist completed within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID
  • Required immunizations and health screenings:
    • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer, no declinations)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
    • Influenza vaccine (seasonal, exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or immunity evidence, no declinations)
    • Tdap (valid within 10 years, no declinations)
    • TB screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
    • Fit Test (annual)
  • 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
  • Verification of education and employment (including 7-year employment verification and professional references)
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and EPLS within 30 days prior to start
  • Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • Badge photo with white or blue background (no alterations)
