Description
Job Opportunity: Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography (CT)
Location: Novi, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Under general supervision, perform computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. May also perform general diagnostic radiology examinations.
Essential Functions
- Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the exam.
- Review clinical data and obtain additional patient medical history as needed.
- Prepare procedure room and replenish supplies such as linen.
- Analyze anatomical structures, set up equipment, and perform CT scans.
- Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic images.
- Administer intravenous contrast media, monitor patients for reactions, and provide immediate care if needed.
- Prepare and set up sterile equipment and supplies for procedures; assist Radiologist with complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
- Perform imaging procedures following radiation protection principles (shielding, dose reduction, ALARA techniques).
- Manage image quality and delivery into PACS; complete study indexing in Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Review and confirm clinical protocols with Radiologist before studies.
- Maintain documentation in medical records and radiology information systems to support clinical and billing functions.
- Demonstrate teamwork, communication, customer service, and respect for diversity consistently.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and hold the advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or be registry-eligible
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Experience with GE Healthcare equipment
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- May work in hospital fixed unit or ambulatory mobile unit.
- Potential exposure to radiation and high-voltage equipment; must follow safety precautions.
- Possible exposure to contagious patients.
- Occasionally lift/move equipment or patients over 10 lbs.
