Job Opportunity: OR - RN General
Location: Fargo, North Dakota

Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Dakota or Compact license
- BLS Certification
- Minimum 2 years recent OR RN experience
- Experience with general surgical cases including GYN, Urology, laparoscopic procedures
- Experience with robotics, DaVinci preferred
- Experience in large hospital settings (250+ beds, Level 1 trauma center)
- Experience working in acute care facilities with 15+ OR suites (outpatient center experience not accepted)
- Experience with some Neuro/Ortho procedures and navigation systems
- Strong skills in general surgery and ENT
- Pediatric (Level 2) and ophthalmology (eyes) experience are a plus

Job Duties
- Circulating nurse responsibilities in the operative setting including:
- Sterile prepping of surgical sites
- Catheter insertion
- Opening sterile supplies
- Positioning patients for surgery
- Documenting in electronic medical records
- Setting up and utilizing operating room equipment
Equipment Used
- Computerized charting modeled after EPIC system
- Accudose
- Cautery, lasers
- Laparoscopic and arthroscopy equipment
Shift and Schedule
- 8 to 10 hour shifts
- May need to stay late as an extension of the regular shift (not call back)
- Rotate to PM shifts in rotation with staff
- Call required 1 to 2 days per week and every 3 to 4 weekends
- Must work any extra shifts picked up; repeated call-ins for extra shifts may result in loss of extra shift privileges
Additional Information
- May float rarely to other campuses if needed
- Unit has 25 OR suites with 75 to 100 cases per day on average
- Nurse to patient ratio is 1:1
- Scrub color provided: Ceil Blue
- Travelers living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible
- Local travel rate adjustments apply for those living 60 to 80 miles away
- Candidates who have previously worked for the facility must have ended employment at least 6 months prior to submission
This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs with strong acute care and surgical skills looking for a 13-week contract in a high-volume, level 1 trauma hospital setting.
