Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel/Contract
Location: Jackson, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work on a busy cardiac/pulmonary telemetry unit (PCU).
- May float to other Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units or ICU (low acuity).
- PCU experience is required.
- Epic experience within the last 12 months is required and must be detailed on the profile.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee.
- Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Certifications required:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Additional Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
- Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service.
- Physical exam within one year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
- N95 Fit Test within one year (no PAPR allowed; failure results in contract cancellation).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes.
- Required immunizations/vaccinations or positive titers:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer or series)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted).
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (no declinations or exemptions accepted).
- COVID vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start.
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
- Complete employment application/resume.
- Skills checklist as applicable to specialty.
Summary
This is a travel/contract Registered Nurse position on a cardiac/pulmonary telemetry unit requiring PCU experience, specific certifications, and recent Epic experience. The contract is approximately 13 weeks long. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory. Compliance with comprehensive health, background, and competency requirements is mandatory.
