Job Opportunity: RN - Behavioral Health (Travel)

Location: Ottumwa, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Specialty: Behavioral Health Nursing (BHU)
Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours guaranteed
Call Requirements: No call
Patient Population: Adults aged 18-65 with anxiety, depression, manic disorders, borderline personality, suicidal ideation
Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 6 patients
Unit Size: 14 beds (average daily census ~7)
EHR System: MediTech
Float Requirements: May be required to float within a 25-mile radius

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience
Psychiatric nursing experience within the last year
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
Experience working with adult patients in a behavioral health setting
Behavioral Health nursing experience

Additional Information

Start Days: Monday or Tuesday starts allowed
Work Environment: Behavioral Health Unit focused on adult psychiatric care
Team: Collaborative, multidisciplinary team providing individualized care

This position is ideal for experienced Behavioral Health RNs with prior travel experience seeking a 13-week travel assignment in Iowa.

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
