Travel Registered Nurse (MICU) - Columbus, Ohio

Job Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse (MICU)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 12-hour day/night rotating shifts (may include days, nights, or combination based on department needs; shift assignments reviewed every 4 weeks but not guaranteed)
Patient Age Group: Adults and Geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: Oncologic emergencies, COPD, pneumonia, ARDS, GI bleed, neuromuscular disease, drug overdose, oncologic treatment consequences, pulmonary hypertension, autoimmune disorders, sepsis
Special Procedures/Unit Details:
- Mechanical ventilation
- Pulmonary artery catheter placement
- Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
- Arterial pressure and cardiac monitoring
- Chest tubes, central venous catheters
- Chemotherapy administration
- Complex medication regimens
- Clinical trials
- Plasmapheresis
- Bronchoscopy and endoscopy for pulmonary and GI conditions

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
Minimum 2 years of Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) experience, including experience within the last year
Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations
Proficiency in ventilator management
Skilled in IV starts
Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Cons

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
