Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania

Job Description
- Minimum 2 years of experience required in specialty.
- Must have experience in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department.
- Prior travel experience not required; first-time travelers accepted.
- No on-call duties.
- Equipment experience: Hamilton G5, PB 980, Respironics V60, Optiflow, Lumis tx, Cough Assist, Vest, and IPV.
- Scrub color: Dark Grey.
- Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) and Every Other Holiday (EOH).
- Return to Office (RTO) requests must be approved by the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year.
- Experience working with adult patients.
- Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Required Background Checks & Compliance
- Comprehensive background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check upon hire.
- HHS/OIG check upon hire.
- Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprint clearance within 90 days of start.
- Education verification for highest level of education.
- State-specific searches including Pennsylvania Medicheck and PATCH search within required timeframes.
Required Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (AHA preferred; ARC acceptable with approval; military certification not accepted).
- BLS (AHA preferred; ARC acceptable with approval; military certification not accepted).
- National certification/verification prior to facility start and upon expiration.
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (updated annually).
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) for RNs & LVNs (if applicable).
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam for RNs.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam within 12 months of start for RNs & LVNs.
- Other certifications as applicable based on unit assignment.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 2 months of start.
- Fit test completed onsite (not required for 100% remote non-clinical).
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per guidelines.
- Required immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (declinations not accepted)
- Varicella
- Negative drug screen (10 panel or 9 panel without THC) within 60 days of start.
- COVID-19 vaccination or signed declination with facility-specific form.
- Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required for new candidates starting October through May; declination allowed only under specific conditions.
- Respirator medical clearance annually for respirator use starting 04/07/2025.
Additional Requirements
- Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start.
- Complete employment application including 7 years of work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days.
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search within 90 days of start.
- Compliance with facility-specific documents such as badge photo and provisional employment affidavit.
- Candidates must comply with all facility and state-specific documentation and screening requirements.
Summary
This is a 13-week travel contract for a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of experience, including Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience. Prior travel experience is not required. The position requires Pennsylvania licensure, RRT credential, BLS, and ACLS certifications, along with comprehensive background checks, immunizations, and health screenings.
