Job Opportunity: Respiratory Care Practitioner - UP
Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Disassemble, wash, rinse, dry, and package respiratory equipment
- Evaluate patient respiratory care outcomes per care plans
- Serve as a role model demonstrating clinical judgment, technical skills, and knowledge in respiratory care
- Prepare, test, and check respiratory therapy equipment for safe operation and routine service
- Report malfunctioning equipment
- Accurately chart respiratory care activities and charge in the EMR
- Complete assessments on ventilator patients and other respiratory care patients
- Recommend timely interventions and further treatment or referrals
- Record procedures, patient responses, and compliance with sleep therapy documentation
- Communicate adverse effects and compliance issues to physicians and Respiratory Care Practitioners
- Evaluate patients for routine respiratory care therapy in inpatient units and Emergency Room
- Obtain and analyze arterial, venous, and capillary blood gases
- Assist with cleaning respiratory care equipment and stocking supplies
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Illinois
- Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
- Respiratory Therapist experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
