Job Opportunity: RN - ICU (Travel)

Location: Los Alamos, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Specialty: ICU Registered Nurse
Shift: See shift details (alternating weekends)
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Call Requirements: As needed; must be within 30 minutes of the hospital when on call
Float Requirements: May be required to float to Medsurg, ER, etc.

Unit: ICU 1 (6 beds)
Patient Ratios: 2:1
Patient Population: All ages
EHR System: Medhost Clinicals

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS (must have at submission; certifications are not available onsite)
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Skills:
- Ventilator management
- Titrating continuous medications

Additional Requirements

Must be fingerprinted and undergo background check per New Mexico state requirements (travelers may start on a 14-day waiver while waiting on results but must be supervised)
Must be located 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify as travel
Professional demeanor required
Dress code: Scrubs (any color); casual wear not acceptable

Additionally, dealing with Host Healthcare has been a seamless experience from compliance and onboarding.

Cons

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
