Job Summary
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
- Coordinate care among all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Follow physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
- Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
Required Specialty Experience
- RN Surgery (Years of experience not explicitly stated; assume standard RN Surgery experience expected)
Required Licenses and Certifications
- Current RN license in Oklahoma (Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start)
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- Pharmacology exam (minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years)

- MMR vaccination or positive titer (no declinations accepted)
- Fit Test (annual requirement)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine during flu season (mask required if declined)
- TB screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
- Varicella vaccination or immunity proof (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap vaccination (valid for 10 years, no declinations accepted)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes
- 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
Required Professional Verifications and Documentation
- Resume/Profile submission
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other required screenings (updated annually)
- EPLS check within 90 days prior to start
- Education verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days prior to start)
- Employment verification for past seven years (updated annually)
- Confirmation of assignment documentation
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment and updated annually
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical specialty competency, updated annually)
- Badge photo (white or blue background, no alterations)
Additional Requirements
- Completion of Ascension-specific onboarding modules and attestations prior to or at start
- Completion of Cerner test-out and training checklist
- Compliance with Ascension unit-specific checklists and onboarding requirements
