Job Summary

  • Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
  • Coordinate care among all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Follow physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
  • Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
  • Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.

Required Specialty Experience

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • Current RN license in Oklahoma (Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start)

Required Health and Safety Compliance

  • MMR vaccination or positive titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Fit Test (annual requirement)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (mask required if declined)
  • TB screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
  • Varicella vaccination or immunity proof (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap vaccination (valid for 10 years, no declinations accepted)
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes
  • 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter

Required Professional Verifications and Documentation

  • Resume/Profile submission
  • At least two professional references prior to first assignment
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other required screenings (updated annually)
  • EPLS check within 90 days prior to start
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days prior to start)
  • Employment verification for past seven years (updated annually)
  • Confirmation of assignment documentation
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment and updated annually
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical specialty competency, updated annually)
  • Badge photo (white or blue background, no alterations)

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of Ascension-specific onboarding modules and attestations prior to or at start
  • Completion of Cerner test-out and training checklist
  • Compliance with Ascension unit-specific checklists and onboarding requirements

Cons

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
