Travel Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical)

Location: Jacksonville, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 for all shifts
• Unit: Medical Surgical (floats between 2 Med Surg units as needed)
• Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend
• Schedule: Open to block schedule requests (discuss with manager)
• Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Requirements

• Must float within scope to meet facility needs
• No on-call required
• Time off requests and schedule accommodations to be discussed with manager
• Background checks, drug screening, and health documents required prior to start (including physical exam, TB test, immunizations, and drug screen)
• Compliance with state-specific searches and fingerprinting requirements for Illinois clinical staff without an IL license
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required annually

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Required immunizations or documented immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Fit mask testing required (specific mask types accepted)

Documentation & Compliance

• Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Education verification
• Competency exam required for clinical candidates
• Badge photo required before start
• References: 2 professional references required for clinical travel candidates

This position is suitable for RNs with at least 1 year of experience in medical-surgical nursing, willing to work night shifts and every other weekend in a critical access hospital setting. Prior travel experience is not required.
