Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel Position
Location: Chandler, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
This position involves providing specialized physical therapy care in a doctor-supervised neurological rehabilitation program. Patient populations include those with:
- Neurological injuries or diseases affecting movement, speech, swallowing, breathing, or learning
- Spinal cord injuries (traumatic and non-traumatic)
- Brain injuries requiring physical, cognitive, and behavioral rehabilitation
- Stroke recovery focusing on physical and psychological effects
- Amputation rehabilitation with a multidisciplinary approach
- Orthopedic recovery including fractures, dislocations, and joint replacements
- Wound care for non-healing wounds
- Respiratory therapy support including airway management and oxygen therapy
- Intravenous antibiotic therapy and PICC line insertion support
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
- Weekend Hours: 8 hours per month (one weekend shift required, Saturday or Sunday)
- Float Requirement: Ability to float to a nearby location (~15 minutes away) as needed
- Patient Population: Adults
- Patient Load: PT/OT staff oversee about 9 patients for team reporting purposes (not necessarily daily visits)
- Equipment Used: In-motion, Synaptic, EKSO, VR
- Electronic Health Records: UDS and Cerner
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Arizona
- Physical Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Experience as a Physical Therapist within the last year
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Experience in a Rehabilitation setting
Additional Information
- Facility Size: 50 beds
- Team: Multidisciplinary with physicians, dieticians, nurses, and therapists
- Reporting Time: Typically 7:00 AM for OT staff, 8:00 AM for PT staff
- Scrub Color: Maroon
- Parking: Available in designated areas near the building
