Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location: Bismarck, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide nursing care for Labor & Delivery (L&D) patients, including high-risk deliveries, postpartum mothers and babies, and gynecological surgical postoperative care. The role includes floating to the newborn nursery and NICU as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Gynecology nursing
- Certifications:
- CPR/BLS
- ACLS
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- STABLE certification preferred but not required
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Dakota
Job Details
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts with some day shifts
- Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday required
- Floating: Willingness to float to newborn nursery and NICU
- Patient Ratios:
- L&D: 1:1 or 1:2
- Mom/baby couplets: 1:3
- Gynecology: 1:4
- Combined mom/baby and gyn: 1:5-6
- Unit Size: 19 beds
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs for gynecology and mom/baby care; hospital-provided scrubs for L&D
- Orientation: 36 hours for travelers; straight night shifts
Additional Information
- Must badge in and out at the facility
- Local travelers with permanent addresses within 80 miles are not accepted
- Candidates must disclose if they have previously worked at this facility and have a minimum 6-month gap since last assignment
Equipment and Systems Used
- Fetal monitors, suction, oxygen, vital signs monitors
- OBIX documentation and centralized monitoring for L&D
- EPIC electronic medical records for gynecology
