Description
Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: San Mateo, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform routine and specialized breast imaging procedures to produce quality diagnostic images.
- Work independently using sound judgment and clinical skills to ensure safe, precise, and timely procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to gain cooperation and confidence.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- May perform specific procedures and orient new staff to the department.
Schedule
- 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (Monday-Friday) with weekend rotation required
- Weekday shifts start between 6:30 AM and 10:30 AM (variable)
- Weekend shifts start between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM (variable)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Mammography Technologist license in California
- Minimum 2 years of Mammography Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Required Certifications & Verifications
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- Background checks including 7-year history, sex offender search, FACIS Level 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and others as applicable
- Education verification (highest level achieved)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray (annual renewal required)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
- Other certifications as applicable (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) may be verified depending on position specifics
Compliance & Documentation
- Must complete and sign facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgment, standards of business conduct, regulatory orientation, code of conduct, and others prior to start
- TB questionnaire required within 90 days of start and annually thereafter
- Employment application with full 7 years of work history, no gaps, and verifiable employment history
- Professional references as required by agency (not required by client)
- Photo for badge (passport-style with solid background)

- Religious and medical exemptions for immunizations and mask fit testing may be considered with proper documentation and approval.
