Description
Job Opportunity: CT Scan Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (10:00 AM - 8:30 PM), Tuesday through Friday
- On-call: Yes, on-call rotation with staff
- Floating: Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
- Daily Caseload: Varies per shift and location
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT certification
Additional Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required: Tdap (within 10 years), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Competency Exams: Required as applicable, including medication/pharmacology competency
- Color Blind Testing: Required prior to start
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Employment History: Verification of last 3 clinical employers required
Facility & Work Environment
- Type: Teaching hospital, Magnet status, Level 1 Trauma center
- Beds: 865 staffed beds
- Charting System: Epic
- Dress Code: Teal top and black bottom scrub
- Parking: Paid parking for nights and weekends; one-time parking pass fee applies
- Emergency Response: All staff assigned to emergency response teams; hurricane season June-November with peak in August-September
Important Notes
- Radiation badge processing can take 5-7 days; candidates cannot start clinical duties without it
- Radius rule: 60 miles; local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Orientation modules and facility-specific training must be completed prior to start
- Clear, passport-style photo required for badge issuance before start date
