Job Description

• Work on a busy Med Surg/Telemetry floor.
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:45 AM - 07:15 PM).
• No on-call duties.
• May be required to float to other Med Surg/Tele units or low acuity ICU.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee.
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Certifications:

  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Additional Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start, including all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service.
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• N95 Fit Test within 1 year, updated annually (no PAPR allowed).
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
• Annual TB questionnaire.
• Immunizations:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer, booster if low/equivocal)
  • Hepatitis B (titer or series, booster if low/equivocal)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer, booster if low/equivocal)
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (no exemptions accepted).
• COVID vaccination or medical/religious exemption required prior to start.
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
• Complete application/resume required.
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty.

Summary

This is a travel contract RN position on a Med Surg/Telemetry unit requiring at least 1 year of nursing experience, current Tennessee or compact RN license, and recent Epic experience. Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are mandatory. The role involves a 3x12 hour shift schedule with no on-call but possible floating to other units. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory. Compliance with comprehensive background checks, immunizations, drug testing, and health screenings is required.
