Job Opportunity: Emergency Department RN (Travel)

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Position in a Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center Emergency Department
  • ED treats over 60,000 patients annually
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1 for critical/trauma patients, 1:3-4 for others
  • Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
  • Work schedule includes 36 or 48 hours per week, holidays as required, every other weekend

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Licenses

  • Valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama

Certifications

  • ACLS issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by the American Heart Association
  • PALS issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience within the last year

  • Patient-facing clinical role

  • Dress code: Solid navy scrubs
  • Guaranteed hours: 36 per week

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
