Occupational Therapist - Home Health
Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide occupational therapy services to patients in their place of residence who have cognitive and/or physical impairments resulting from injury, disease, disability, or other causes. Patient age range is from birth to over 100 years. Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and other allied health professionals to identify patient needs and coordinate services. Manage technical, environmental, and financial resources.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist registered with the Massachusetts Board of Registration.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care, rehab, or home care as an Occupational Therapist.
- Ability to work with various computer software; knowledge of hand-held patient care devices preferred.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing situations.
- Travel required within the geographic area.
Required Credentials & Compliance
- Recent professional photo (color, plain background, no filters or eyeglasses).
- Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check within 45 days of start.
- Primary source verification of professional license/certification.
- N95 respirator fit test within 1 year of start date, updated annually.
- Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity.
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (no exemptions).
- TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if break >6 months.
- Health statement signed by a licensed provider within 1 year of start date.
- Criminal background checks including state and national registries.
- Education verification.
- References: 2 within 4 years, including at least 1 supervisor.
- Skills checklist completed within 1 year.
- Respirator Medical Clearance attestation.
- Confirmation of assignment form upon acceptance.
- Exclusion checks against federal and state lists.

- Must submit a resume including 7 years of work experience with city and state.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
