Job Summary

• Perform angiography procedures including scrubbing, setting techniques, and imaging.
• Provide procedural assistance as circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech per lab policies and scope of practice.
• Operate interventional radiology (IR) equipment and related information systems to produce quality images.
• Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and patient preparation.
• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Develop knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies and their proper use.
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, consents, quality control, and equipment issue reporting.
• Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and address patient/family concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of procedures and any adverse events.
• Coordinate patient care and communicate with other providers post-procedure.
• Manage sheath placement or removal and hemostasis at procedure end.
• Maintain work area and supplies; transport patients as needed.
• Assist with SIRT mapping/treatments, embolizations, nephrostomy and biliary tube placements, CT-guided procedures (drains, biopsies, ablations), and neuro-IR stroke and diagnostic procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year preferred.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Experience performing angiography procedures.
• Experience operating imaging equipment.
